Most patients stay seven to eight days. That allows one hospital night, drain removal if drains were used, at least two wound checks and a final fit-to-fly review with your surgeon. Flying earlier raises the risk of blood clots and leaves no time to manage a problem such as a haematoma. On the flight, wear your support bra and compression stockings if advised, drink water and walk regularly.
